An unprecedented demand for tequila has led to a serious agave shortage worldwide. Furthermore, many celebrities have decided to create their own tequila companies, which are adding an immense strain to the availability of agave, jobs, and quality of living in Mexico. These new brands do not respect agave's growing process and the tradition behind making honest and quality tequila, therefore having the blue agave plant on the verge of extinction.
